Dock3 auto-install drop kit with Drop box
The Dock 3 Auto-Install Drop Kit with Drop Box is a specialized hardware integration designed for the DJI Dock 3 and its compatible aircraft, the Matrice 4D and Matrice 4TD.
Released as part of the 2026 enterprise ecosystem, this kit enables the first truly automated "last-mile" delivery and emergency supply drops from a fixed or vehicle-mounted docking station.
1. Hardware Components
Auto-Install Mechanism: Unlike standard drop kits that require manual mounting, this kit is low-profile and "Dock-native." The Matrice 4D can land, charge, and close the Dock 3 covers without needing to remove the kit.
The Drop Box: A lightweight, high-impact IP56-rated container. It is typically aerodynamic to minimize the effect on the drone's 54-minute flight time.
E-Port Integration: Connects via the new E-Port V2 on the Matrice 4D, allowing the release mechanism to be controlled directly through the cloud.
2. Automated Workflow (FlightHub 2)
The primary advantage of this system is that it removes the need for an on-site pilot.
Remote Loading: A worker places the cargo (medication, tools, or sensors) into the box while the drone is in the dock.
Autonomous Dispatch: From a central command center, an operator selects a "Drop Waypoint" in DJI FlightHub 2.
Precision Release: The drone uses its integrated RTK and downward vision sensors to hover precisely over the target (e.g., a delivery pad or a restricted area) and releases the box.
Auto-Return: The drone detects the weight change and automatically returns to the Dock 3 to recharge for the next mission.
